My Story
For as long as I can remember, I’ve found peace and joy in nature and animals. Growing up, trying to "fit in" felt difficult and I was very anxious. I struggled to find my place in the world and at 14, I was diagnosed with depression and prescribed antidepressants. They didn’t help and I knew my struggles were rooted in something deeper. Unfortunately, like many of us it took years to be heard. At 25 I received an ADHD diagnosis, followed by an Autism diagnosis at 26. Understanding my ADHD and Autism has been life-changing.
Since then, I’ve been on a journey of self acceptance and understand better how ADHD and Autism shape my life. Through it all, my animals were my lifeline. They gave me purpose, comfort, responsibility and unconditional love during my darkest moments. My Nan says, “Those animals saved you more than you saved them” and I couldn’t agree more!
My animals inspired me to share the healing power of animals and nature with others who need a fury friend and a safe space. I spent years searching for a sense of belonging, only to realise that true community is something you create. That’s why I founded Happy Hooves, Happy Hearts, a place where everyone, especially those who feel like they don’t quite fit can find connection, support, and joy through animals and nature. Whether you’re navigating neurodiversity, mental health challenges, or simply seeking a welcoming space, we’re here for you. We can’t wait to meet you and share the magic of our animals and community. Visit us, join an event, or follow our journey to see how together, we’re building a space where everyone belongs
